Popular in the downtown area, this okappiki is a true-born EDO boy.
He's so in-love with Okon-chan, the poster girl of the teahouse.
Wielding his jitte with a sense of duty and humanity, the coins of wanted criminals fly again today!

S.8. Taro is a dog from the OEDO star, where everything looks like the Edo period of Japan. During the events of the 2nd Pop'n party, he was seen as a dutiful and righteous okappiki (a low-ranking police officer in the Edo period) who uses a bone-like stick as his jitte (police weapon) for catching criminals, and when in a pinch, he eats his bone stick to transform; however, his changed form does not appear in the game. However, he is still a rookie in training and strives to work harder to become a doshin (samurai police officer) and serve the O.TADASUKE Magistrate.

He is in a very loving relationship with Okon, a fox girl who works at a tea house to attract customers. During the events of the 4th Pop'n party, they were seen dating at a karaoke booth, which is their favorite pastime at the time. S.8. Taro has also confessed during the Popper's Lounge interview that he plans to marry Okon after he completes his training and becomes a full-fledged doshin.

Appearance[]

S.8. Taro appears as a short, tan colored dog with dark brown eyes, brown ears and tail, and brown hair kept in a small bun with a white band. He wears a light blue hanten with darker blue trim over black shorts with black socks. His top is tied with a white bow and has white bands on the shoulders. He's often shown carrying a small yellow paper lantern with a paw print design and a bone-like stick.

His 2P palette gives him black ears, tail, eyes, and hair. His hanten is yellow with orange trimming, while his shorts and socks are navy blue. His lantern becomes red orange.

His unused 3P color palette can be found in the Pop'n Music data, planned for a scrapped and unimplemented お江戸花吹雪 URA chart.
