- Runnin' Away is one of the Stage 1 unlocks of pop'n music 16 PARTY♪'s Atsumare Pop'n Party (あつまれ！ポップンパーティー♪?) event. It could be unlocked from June 11th, 2008.
- From August 6th, 2008, it is available by default.
- Runnin' Away marks Rie Aono's debut in the pop'n music series.
- Runnin' Away and そばかす were the only brand-new songs in pop'n music 16 PARTY♪ that did not have Battle HYPER charts. Both songs would receive Battle HYPER charts in the next arcade release.

おひさしぶりです。沖井です。今回の"Runnin' Away" 、いかがでしたでしょうか？wac氏から頂いた今回のお題は「ソウル・ミュージック」。そこで普通にフィラデルフィアとかデトロイトを思い浮かべればよいものを、何故か僕は「そうだ、オークランドだ！」などと思ってしまい、色々と悩むはめになったのも今では良い思い出です。出口に悩む僕に絶妙なヒントをくれたwacさん、どうもありがとう。
この曲のヴォーカルは青野りえさんにお願いしました。実は青野さんとは付き合いも古く、数々のCM音楽でもよくご一緒させて頂いてますが、CM音楽というのは大抵15秒とか30秒の尺しか作らないものなので、今回のように「一曲まるまる」を彼女とレコーディングしたのは意外にも初めてでした。目の前で素晴らしい歌を歌ってくれて、とても楽しかったです。青野さん、今後ともぜひよろしく。
