Lyrics[]

Maybe I'm not the one you were meant to be with. Whenever I feel a little lonely, I want to hold you and say, "My baby." Where are you and what are you doing? I always remember in my heart. I pray that the future is like a dream, I pray that love is like a rainbow. Where you remember me, I always remember in my heart. Maybe you're not the one I'm meant to be with, but I'll save you (do you know) One day we must dream come true, believe in miracles to dream about you.

Long time no see! I'm Cathy Lau.
It's been a while since I participated in Pop'n 3 with "Kang-Tong", so I decided to make a new song with a different atmosphere from "Kang-Tong". How did you like it? I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jo-san and Ko-san for the local check of the lyrics. Thanks! |

One of the newest and most unique aspects of Pop'n 8 is a collaboration with the Chinese staff. We collaborated with the staff of Konami's production company in Shanghai to create a part of the program and a part of the design. So, not to return the favor, but since the game has become more international, and since there had never been a home-use game that was not in English, I thought it would be interesting to have a song in Chinese. I thought it would be interesting to have a Chinese song, so I contacted Cathy. Actually, I had originally asked for a Japanese song for another project and had received a demo, but it had a "deep" continental feel to it, so I asked her if she would be interested in a Chinese version. I asked him if he could translate it into Chinese, and he gave me the OK.
But...the problem is that I cannot read Chinese at all. In other words, I have no idea if the poem that Cathy sent me is correct or not! So I was trying to figure out what to do, when I realized something very basic. Two Chinese staff representatives had come to Japan to work on it, so I asked them to check it for me! (laughs) But here's the problem again.... But here was another problem... My computer did not have Chinese fonts, so I could not exchange lyrics via e-mail! This was a real problem. I had no choice but to write the lyrics in a primitive way, using a red pen on a fax machine. I remember that when I went to their seats with "a mysterious spell-like paper filled with Chinese characters," they smiled, even though it was a difficult time in the middle of the production. I think they were happy to see their native language. This is how Cool China was created. The arrangement was not a blending of Japanese and Western, but a blending of Japanese and Chinese. I tried to arrange it in a way that it retains an oriental atmosphere. I hope you enjoy it. |
