最近「これは辛い!!」と思う食べ物がいまいち見つからなくて、やや残念だと感じてまいりました。巷で「激辛」とされるモノのほとんどが、実際はサバを読んだ「ピリ辛」なんじゃないかと感じてまいりました。もしかして自分の舌の味蕾（みらい）が全部破裂しちゃったんじゃないかとさえ感じてまいりました。古川"good-cool"竜也、略してグックルでございます。アーケードにおきましては大変ご無沙汰しておりました。皆様お変わりなくお元気でお過ごしですか～～～？
今回は「ユーロビートを作って下さい」との指令を頂きました。ユーロビートなら以前に独自の制作方法を習得しているのでバッチリです!! まずは身の回りをユーロビートのサウンドで固めてしまいましょう。自宅の有線は常にユーロビート専門のチャンネルにして過ごしましょう。愛車のCDチェンジャーもユーロビートのコンピレーションだらけにしておきましょう。ついでにパラパラの教則DVDのイケてるおねぃさんたちについうっかり見とれてしまいましょう。そして脳波が「スッチャチャスチャチャッ、スッチャチャスチャチャッ」と、細かい波形を描くようになってくれば通常これで万事OKなのですが、そこにひとつの問題がありました。
頂いたオーダーはただのユーロビートではなく「遺跡ユーロ」だったのです。こんな恐ろしくも怪しいオーダーを出せる人物は一人しかいませんねwacなんですねそうなんですね。過去に「バリトランス」というキテレツなオーダーを頂いた経験がありますが、その時はほとんど悩みませんでした。なぜなら「バリっぽい要素」というものが即座に連想できたからです。ガムランの響きだったりケチャの声だったり…。「和風ロック」もまた然りです。この時もやはりオーダーを出したのはwacだったんですねそうなんですね。
一口に「遺跡っぽい要素」と言われても、なかなか連想できません。暗中模索の中、何とかデモを仕上げwacに提出したところ「これはユーロビートですね!! もっと遺跡にして下さい!! 古代な感じにして下さい!!」的なダメ出しを頂いてしまいました（泣）途方に暮れつつリテイクに当たるも、頭に浮かんでくるのは黄金のマスクとか砂漠に建つ神殿とか壁面に描かれた神々の姿とか、全く音のしないものばかりです。バリトランスを作っている場合で考えると、籐製品とかナシゴレンとかマッサージとか100,000ルピア札しか思い浮かばないような状態です。これじゃ困ります!! 関係ありませんが、バリでちょっといい食事をしたら会計の時に「12万ルピアです」と言われ「ひえ～～～っ、12万かよ!!」と思って計算したら、約1,500円程度だったのでホッとしたのを思い出しました。
そこで思いついた作戦は、浮かんでくるアイテムを2分弱の映像として頭の中で編集し、その画面にマッチした音色をちりばめつつPVのようなイメージを脳内構築するというものでした。不思議な笛の音や奇妙な音階を奏でる弦楽器の音などがそうです。これによって自分的には古代遺跡な感じが出てきたように思えてまいりました!!
ボーカルは「ビーチ / Into The Light」でおなじみのCHiCOが担当しております。相変わらずのパワフルな歌いっぷりがスバラシイです。収録スタジオで必要なメロディー部分を全て録り終わった後、どうしても要所に語りを入れてもらいたくなったので、その場で古代文明っぽい言語を独自に開発してみました。超テキトーなように聞こえるかも知れませんが、ある一定の法則をもってできている、れっきとしたコトバなのです!! しかしCHiCOも僕もこれで会話をする事はできません!!
制作当初は便宜上「遺跡ユーロ」というジャンル名を使っておりましたが、wacのアイデアにより「エンシャントユーロ（ANCIENT EURO）」という何かちょっとカッコイイ名前に決まりました。和訳としては「古代ユーロ」といったところでしょうか。コブラを象った冠をかぶったCHiCO女王様が玉座の前に立って両手を広げながら古代のコトバを発し、10万の群衆がひれ伏している雰囲気を感じながらプレーして頂けると幸いです。決め台詞は「マエラド、イマトーニ、エカータ」です!!
